We simply don't take holidays often enough

Yet they're necessary to recharge body and mind.....these days, when we take a holiday, we often bring work and worries along with us, keeping ourselves in the same work mindset and daily routine we're trying to escape.Yes, i hope you will agree with me...The bottom line is that taking a good amount of time away from stresses of the daily life can give us the break we need so that we can return to our lives refreshed and better equipped to handle whatever comes our way......I have three holiday practices for you..

  1. PREPARE TO LEAVE

Make sure the people taking care of things in your absence, on both work and home front, understand what they need before you go from client files to house keys and security codes .Make it clear that you wish to receive no work related calls, except emergency and that you will not be undertaking any work while you are on holiday , or altering your holiday plans to accommodate work.

  1. LEAVE IT IN GOOD HANDS

While you are away, trust your colleagues, friends and family to follow through on your behalf .Let go of the gulf of taking time off and of the need to be in control .Learn that, you control your work .Respect your personal life as much as you do your professional life and enjoy your family, friends or solitude you deserve it.

While technology is a livesaver, relaxing in a wired world can be challenging .That?s why it?s important when you?re on holiday to make a conscious effort to unwind and unplug ?that?s all your gadgets, including email paper, cellphone and laptop.
These are the no-no?s no calling the office to discuss business matters , no checking voicemail or email and no participation in conference calls while you?re on holiday.You are either on holiday or you?re at work ? shouldn?t try to be in two places at one time .
