Make sure the people taking care of things in your absence, on both work and home front, understand what they need before you go from client files to house keys and security codes .Make it clear that you wish to receive no work related calls, except emergency and that you will not be undertaking any work while you are on holiday , or altering your holiday plans to accommodate work.
While you are away, trust your colleagues, friends and family to follow through on your behalf .Let go of the gulf of taking time off and of the need to be in control .Learn that, you control your work .Respect your personal life as much as you do your professional life and enjoy your family, friends or solitude you deserve it.
